Dr. Dan Rieder

Dan Rieder received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1974. After teaching optometry at the University of Waterloo and practicing within an opthamology group, he opened up his optometric practice in the Conejo Valley in 1978. Since then, he and his staff have been offering the community professional vision care with an emphasis in family care and contact lenses. Dr. Rieder keeps abreast of the many changes in vision care by regularly attending continuing medical education programs. He is TPA certified and able to see patients for medical conditions as well as examinations. Dr. Rieder has also been certified and trained in laser refractive surgery co-management and works with many local vision centers assisting in the care of lasik patients. Outside of the office Dr. Rieder takes part in Junior Achievement with the community schools and the Optimist Club. He is an avid bicycle rider and chef. Dr. Rieder is married and has two daughters.

Dr. Rachel Gannam

Dr. Rachel Gannam is a native to Thousand Oaks, residing here since she was six years old. She attended Thousand Oaks High School and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Gannam continued her education at the Southern California College of Optometry and received her Doctor of Optometry graduating magna cum laude. During her education at the Southern California College of Optometry, Dr. Gannam was trained in comprehensive vision care, ocular disease, pediatrics, contact lenses, co management of laser refractive surgery and cataracts, vision therapy and low vision. She is ceritified in diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical privileges giving her the ability to diagnose and treat an array of ocular disease. Dr. Gannam is also a proud member of the Infant See program, providing free eye exams to infants from 6 to 12 months. Dr. Gannam enjoys spending time with her husband Austin and two children. She also enjoys snow skiing, hiking and camping.

Ona, Donna & Barbara

Our office staff works together in assisting the doctors with eye examinations, frame selection and contact lens fittings. The front office is headed by Donna, who has worked with Dr. Rieder for over twenty years. If you have questions regarding your insurance Donna will be happy to explain your benefits and what will work best for you with your eye care plan. She is also our Privacy Officer with the recent HIPPA rules regarding patient privacy. Donna also assists Dr Rieder in repairing frames and fitting you with your eyewear. Ona has been in our office for over twelve years. Ona specializes in servicing clients with their frame selection. She will be happy to help you find a style that is comfortable for your prescription as well as up to date. Ona meets with the frame companies every three months to make sure our selection is current. The office works with these fashion groups on a daily basis to make sure that your frame is presented to you in a timely manner. Barbara is the newest member of our staff. She assists Dr. Rieder and Dr. Gannam with pre examination testing and eye wear selection. Barbara also helps out Donna at the front office by scheduling appointments for patients.
